VV Textile makes small-run womenswear from hand-block prints and reclaimed Kantha cloth. Bandhani, ajrakh, patola and vintage quilt panels, cut into dresses, co-ords, jumpsuits and jackets that get worn rather than saved for occasions.

Why the pieces are never identical

Our Kantha comes from old quilts, each one hand-stitched by someone else years ago. We source, wash and sort them by colour before cutting. A jacket made from one quilt cannot be repeated from another, so print placement shifts from piece to piece. We treat that as the point rather than a defect.

The printed styles are different: hand-block and screen prints we can reorder, cut in small batches so the range stays fresh through the season.

How things are made

• Cloth sourced directly from block printers and quilt traders
• Cut and stitched in our own unit, in runs of twenty to fifty
• Every piece checked and pressed before it is packed
• Offcuts go back into patchwork rather than the bin
